Excursion “LEKKI 2025”

The Mariny Schools “LEKKI 2025” excursion was more than just a field trip it was a full-blown adventure!

On a bright and breezy morning, our excited students and enthusiastic staff boarded buses headed to one of Nigeria’s most iconic destinations: Lekki.

From the moment we stepped onto the canopy walk at Lekki Conservation Centre suspended high above the trees with birdsong and laughter echoing below it was clear this would be a day to remember.

Students explored nature trails, admired the towering tortoise, and conquered their fear of heights with cheering friends and teachers by their side.

We visited cultural landmarks and soaked in the rich artistry at the Lekki Arts and Crafts Market, where students got a hands-on feel of Nigerian creativity and culture.

There was dancing, picture-taking, and of course, tasty bites from Lagos’ finest street food spots small chops, chilled drinks, and lots of jollof rice!

🎤 Student Voices:
“It was the best day of the term! I’ve never had that much fun on a school trip,” said Moyo (JSS 3).
“I really loved the conservation centre and the cultural displays. I didn’t want it to end!” added David (SS 2).

🗣 Teacher Reflections:
“The students bonded, learned, and explored in a relaxed, beautiful setting. Watching them laugh and grow outside the classroom made it all worthwhile,” said Mrs. Adesua, one of the trip coordinators.

As the sun set over the Atlantic, the buses rolled back to Ibadan filled with tired but beaming faces and phones full of unforgettable memories.
