Who we are
Mariny Schools Ibadan operates this website. If you have a question about anything on this page, or you want to ask us to correct or delete information we hold about you, please contact the school office using the details on our Contact page.
What we collect, and when
We only collect information you type into a form and send us. There are four:
- An admission application. The child's name and date of birth, the class you are applying for, a parent or guardian's name, email address and phone number, and any documents you attach.
- A contact message. Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message.
- A job application. Your name, contact details, the post you are applying for and your CV.
- A newsletter sign-up. Your email address, and nothing else.
We do not buy information about you, we do not ask for it from anyone else, and none of these forms asks for a payment card.
What we use it for
To answer you. An application is read by the admissions staff, a message is read by whoever can answer it, a job application is read by whoever is recruiting, and a newsletter address is used to send the newsletter. We do not use any of it for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anybody.
How long we keep it
An enquiry or a message is kept while it is being dealt with and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us about it. An admission application is kept for the admissions cycle it belongs to; a successful one becomes part of the pupil's record. A job application is kept until the post is filled unless you ask us to keep it on file. A newsletter address is kept until you unsubscribe.
The school sets the exact periods. Ask the office if you need to know them for a particular record.
Cookies
This site sets only what it needs to work:
- a session cookie, so a form you are filling in does not lose what you have typed, and so the form's security check works;
- a small amount of local storage in your browser remembering whether you dismissed the announcement banner or muted the site's audio.
There is no advertising or tracking cookie on this site, and no third-party analytics script unless the school has chosen to add one.
Who else sees it
Our web host stores the site and its database on our behalf. Email we send you passes through our email provider. Neither is permitted to use your information for their own purposes. If a page on this site embeds something from elsewhere - a map, or a video - that provider will see that your browser requested it.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop sending you the newsletter. Every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link, and you can write to the school office about anything else. We will not charge you for asking.
Children
Where the information concerns a child, we deal with the parent or guardian who gave it to us. A child should not send us anything through this website without a parent knowing.
Changes to this policy
If we change it, the new version appears on this page. Where a change is significant we will say so on the site.
